Here are a few of my favorite & very helpful websites. A lot of work has gone into these sites so please take the time to look & enjoy them.
GENEALOGY
1.Our Southern Ancestors What a " wealth of information " from a wonderful lady and author of the 1985 book " Our Southern Ancestors " by Thelma Faye Cain Prince. I've enjoyed the vast knowledge of her work on the Sorrells family and I'm sure you will too.
2.Find A Grave Here you can search for the graves of family, friends and celebrities. This is a great site for adding and or searching your ancestors. I have been a member for over 5 years now and proud to say that I'm a member of their " The Angels Flower Garden ".
3.The Ratcliff Family Tree Clarence Earl Ratcliff has done a wonderful job in researching our Ratcliff family. Please vist his site for more information. " Thank You Clarence ", Don & Pauline.
4.The Allred Organization & The Allred Roster
Don Allred has done a wonderful job at these two Allred Family web sites. I have visited these two web sites many times myself and suggest that you go there for more information on your Allred Family.
5.Cousin David McGinnis has lots of photos on his yahoo group page, take a look.
1. 33rd Mississippi Infantry David Godbold has done a wonderful job at this website. There is History, Bio's, Letters, Rosters, Battles, Officers and Enlisted Men. This is one of the websites that I have used to search for some of our Amite Co, Mississippi families ( Whittington, Wilkinson & more )during the Civil War. " Check it out ".
2. 8th Georgia Infantry David Larson has done a wonderful job at the 8th Georgia Infantry website. This has our John Paulden Duke photo & bio here. Plus be sure to look for other relatives here also. " Thanks David "
GRAPHICS
1.Heaven's Hope Graphics If you love angels & children ( and who doesn't ) you're going to love this website. Tamara is a very talented lady who's story of the loss of her daughter " Hope " has touched my heart. As a parent of a child that has crossed over, I understand all to well the pain this causes a family. Tamara has taken her pain and turned it into a wonderful gift for others to share and enjoy. Without her help this website would not have been possible. Once again, I would like to say a big " Thank You " to her & her family for giving back with Heaven's Hope Graphics. I would recommend this site to anyone who needs just the right touch for their website.
BEYOND
1.George Anderson After the death of our son Jeff, my mother bought us a book called " Our Children Forever ". What a comfort that book became to us as parents of a child who has passed. I have now read all of the George Anderson books and recommend them to you as well. Please take a look at his site & enjoy.
Grief Support
1.Compassionate Friends Grief support after the death of a child. Compassionate Freinds is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there is no membership dues or fees. Ron & I have receive a free monthly newsletter for the last 7 years and I find some type of comfort in each issue. If you have lost a child or know someone who has I recommend this website. " You Are Not Alone ".
Memorial Stones and More
Jones Memorials This is a must web site if you are looking for headstones, markers, cremation needs, benches and so much more. Whether you are looking to buy a memorial for a newly deceased love one or for a love one that has been deceased for years you will find what your looking for here. You can't find a more reasonably priced memorial anywhere and I mean anywhere. I know because I bought my grandfather who pasted away in 1972 a flatmarker with full name, month date & year of birth & death, plus carving shown on stone. Personal emails and telephone calls from Mr. Jones himself who has been a godsend in seeing to our personal needs. A very honest, caring and professional man and company. No I'm not a salesman for this company but I do believe in sharing with others when I find something that is of importance. So take a moment to look at this web site and see for yourself that I personally don't think you can find a better price on memorials anywhere.
