Headstone photo of Thomas Richard Sorrell, believe his 2nd wife Priscilla V. Holcombe Sorrell and Thomas's son John William Sorrell. The dates are correct on John's part but the death date on Thomas is wrong he died in 1923. We are unable to see the first name because of the shadow but it is believed to be of Priscilla V. Holcombe Sorrell. This photo was taken by Betty Ruth Sorrell Stewart daughter of Jesse Alfred Webb Sorrell and Mary Loulla Coats Sorrell. Granddaughter of Thomas Richard Sorrell and Nancy Louise Thompson Sorrell. I have a man in Oklahoma who is going to the Chelsea Cemetery in Rogers Co, Oklahoma to see if he can find and take another photo of this headstone. It is said that they are buried in " The Old Chelsea " cemetery. I've been unable to locate that cemetery but have located " The Chelsea Cemetery " and have a photo of Thomas's first wife Nancy Louise Thompson Sorrell headstone in that cemetery ( see headstone photos ) but no other headstone are near her. Will add more information as I get it.
Homer Barto Sorrell photo taken August 1933 in Durant, Bryan Co, Oklahoma. Homer is the youngest child and son of Thomas Richard Sorrell & Nancy Louisa Thompson.
Homer Barto Sorrell his wife 1st Oma Williams with four of their 5 daughters. Daughters are belived to be left to right: Catherine ( baby ) born 1915, Mattie B. born 1912, Frances M. born 1910 and Dorothy born 1914. This is only my guess as to the order of the children. Barto and Oma had another daughter named Pearl born July. 1919. No date, place or names of the girls are given on this photo. This is only my guess as to the girls identity.

This according to the 1930 Bakers, Floyd Co, Georgia Federal Census listing James and Glennie as the boys parents.

Front row left is John & Mary's daughter Pearl Ethel Sorrell and two unknown children. I believe that the two unknown child are children of John & Mary Jane. They had two more children, James T. Sorrell born in 1903 and another child that I have no information on at this time. No date or place given on this photo.

Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps., World War II. Jesse Dell David Sorrell was captured from Wake Island by the Japanese, December 1941. He was a prisoner of war for three years and eight months. He was in the Shanghai, China, prisoner of war camp. After he was released, he returned home and then almost immediately he enlisted and served in the Korean War for another period of time.

Headstone photo of Thomas Richard Sorrell, believe his 2nd wife Priscilla V. Holcombe Sorrell and Thomas's son John William Sorrell. The dates are correct on John's part but the death date on Thomas is wrong he died in 1923. We are unable to see the first name because of the shadow but it is believed to be of Priscilla V. Holcombe Sorrell. This photo was taken by Betty Ruth Sorrell Stewart daughter of Jesse Alfred Webb Sorrell and Mary Loulla Coats Sorrell. Granddaughter of Thomas Richard Sorrell and Nancy Louise Thompson Sorrell. I have a man in Oklahoma who is going to the Chelsea Cemetery in Rogers Co, Oklahoma to see if he can find and take another photo of this headstone. It is said that they are buried in " The Old Chelsea " cemetery. I've been unable to locate that cemetery but have located " The Chelsea Cemetery " and have a photo of Thomas's first wife Nancy Louise Thompson Sorrell headstone in that cemetery ( see headstone photos ) but no other headstone are near her. Will add more information as I get it.

Daughters are belived to be left to right: Catherine ( baby ) born 1915, Mattie B. born 1912, Frances M. born 1910 and Dorothy born 1914. This is only my guess as to the order of the children. Barto and Oma had another daughter named Pearl born July. 1919. No date, place or names of the girls are given on this photo. This is only my guess as to the girls identity.

Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps., World War II. Jesse Dell David Sorrell was captured from Wake Island by the Japanese, December 1941. He was a prisoner of war for three years and eight months. He was in the Shanghai, China, prisoner of war camp. After he was released, he returned home and then almost immediately he enlisted and served in the Korean War for another period of time.

Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps., World War II. Jesse Dell David Sorrell was captured from Wake Island by the Japanese, December 1941. He was a prisoner of war for three years and eight months. He was in the Shanghai, China, prisoner of war camp. After he was released, he returned home and then almost immediately he enlisted and served in the Korean War for another period of time.
