This is from notes I have, given to me by Wilma Jean Freeman ( daughter of Violet Hunttington Ratcliff Freeman, daughter of June Eunice Davis, per Sylvia Calcote, per her mother Katherine Ratcliff Calcote also daughter of June Eunice Davis ). Did yall get all that ?
Talking about a picture of the home of Jame Asa Davis & Celia Bell Allred Davis, ( see Photos & Documents page ). They are all seated and Aunt Mary and Uncle Allen and Uncle Commodore are standing. They went home often. I ( Katherine Ratcliff Calcote )can barely remember hearing them talking about how the house went up in flames and Uncle Ivy took Grandma Celia outside and locked her arms around an old oak tree and then went back and got her wheelchair and by then the house was up in flames and nothing could save it.
Note also said that ( talking about Ivy James Davis ) quote " He lived with Grandma Celia when he came back from the War ".
